Shehbaz Sharif Warns India Over Water Dispute, Says Every Drop Is a “Red Line”

Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has delivered a harsh warning to India over the water conflict, claiming that every drop of Pakistani water is a “red line.” He stated that Pakistan wishes for regional peace and stability, but that if India does not adjust its stance, it will respond directly.

Shehbaz Sharif delivered the remarks on Thursday, August 13, at the inauguration of Islamabad’s Yadgar-e-Fatah, or Victory Monument. President Asif Ali Zardari and Field Marshal Asim Munir were among the key political and military authorities who attended the occasion.

His remarks come amidst ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan over water resources and the Indus River System.
