UAE Iran War Crisis Deepens: Missile Fear, Flight Chaos & Rising Tension Shock Gulf

Middle East War Day 16 : Loud explosions were reported in sections of Dubai on Sunday, and Iran claimed to have started attacks on the UAE’s al-Dhafra airbase. Meanwhile, multiple drones targeted Kuwait International Airport, damaging its radar system, but police said no one was hurt, according to AFP.

According to Al Jazeera, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have fired 10 missiles and an undefined number of drones at US military stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base in the UAE.

Middle East War Day 16 : UAE Ministry of Defence stated

Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defence stated that its air defence systems were “responding to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran.” The ministry stated that the loud sounds heard throughout the country were produced by interceptions conducted by air defence systems.

The developments come a day after Iran warned that “ports, docks, and American hideouts” in the UAE could be targeted, urging citizens to flee.

Tehran justified the attack, stating that the US used UAE ports, docks, and hideouts to conduct strikes on Kharg Island, home to Iran’s primary oil export terminal.

According to AFP, Iran has launched over 1,800 missiles and drones at the UAE during the crisis, making it the country most heavily targeted by Tehran in the ongoing escalation.

The attacks have prompted concerns about security in the Gulf, which has long been regarded as relatively secure in an otherwise tumultuous Middle East.

Several Middle Eastern countries have been directly affected by the US-Israel-Iran war, which began on February 28 when the US and Israel attacked Iran and assassinated its supreme leader.

In recent days, Israel struck Hezbollah locations in Lebanon, Qatar reported explosions near US facilities in Doha, and drones set fire to Saudi Arabia’s largest refinery.
