Hezbollah Ceasefire Terms: Naim Qassem Demands Mutual Truce, Warns of Retaliation

Hezbollah Ceasefire Terms :  Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has detailed a set of procedures needed to reach peace. He stated that the ongoing 10-day truce with Israel cannot be maintained unless all parties respect it, underlining that this would necessitate a full cessation of “aggression” against Lebanon by air, land, and sea, according to Al Jazeera.

Qassem also demanded that Israel remove completely from Lebanese territory, according to Al Jazeera.

According to Al Jazeera, he stated that the next stages will be the release of prisoners and the return of residents to their homes in border communities.

According to Al Jazeera, he stated that the last stage will entail a massive restoration project with assistance from Arab nations.

Separately, Qassem reaffirmed that without all parties abide by the truce, it cannot last. He warned that his fighters will retaliate any Israeli actions in Lebanon, saying, “A ceasefire means a complete cessation of all hostilities,” according to Al Jazeera.According to Al Jazeera, he continued, “The resistance fighters will remain in the field with their hands on the trigger, and they will respond to violations accordingly, because we do not trust this enemy.”

Rising tensions in the Middle East have taken a new turn when Naim Qassem established specific terms for a cease-fire with Israel. His most recent message expresses both optimism for peace and a warning of potential confrontation if rules are not followed.

The comments were made during a tenuous truce between Israel and Hezbollah. Both sides are keeping a tight eye on each other as the situation remains tense.

Hezbollah ceasefire terms demand strict mutual action

Qassem stated unequivocally that any ceasefire must be bilateral. He stated that until all sides fully honor the deal, it will fail. “A ceasefire means a complete stop of all attacks,” he says, and this must apply equally.

He emphasized that Israel must cease all military operations in Lebanon, including air, land, and sea. He also advocated for a complete departure of Israeli military from Lebanese land as a necessary condition for long-term peace.

The Hezbollah leader also stated that the group is prepared to respond if there are any violations. He cautioned that fighters will remain vigilant and take action if the deal is violated.

This strong message demonstrates that, while both parties are open to peace, trust between them remains extremely low. Qassem stated unequivocally that a truce cannot endure if just one side follows the conditions.

According to reports, if the ceasefire is maintained, subsequent steps may include the return of displaced persons, prisoner exchanges, and the reconstruction of damaged areas.

The current cease-fire is part of a short-term effort to halt bloodshed and begin negotiations for a long-term deal. However, previous disputes and frequent transgressions have left the situation fragile.

This development raises both concerns and possibilities. On the one hand, there is a potential for peace if all parties obey the norms. On the other hand, any minor infraction may immediately reignite unrest in the region.

For the time being, the globe is keeping a careful eye on the situation as it shifts between fragile peace and the threat of further escalation.
