US President Donald Trump has warned Iran over what he described as new activity at Trump Pickaxe Mountain, a fortified site located close to Iran’s Natanz uranium enrichment complex. He said the United States could strike the site if Tehran takes further action.
Trump made the remarks on Wednesday during his speech at the Republican midterm conference. He stated that the US has observed “a little activity” at Pickaxe and warned Iran against becoming “cute,” claiming that any US retaliation may be quite harsh.
Trump Pickaxe Mountain Warning to Iran
Pickaxe Mountain is located about 220 kilometers (140 miles) south of Tehran and only about 2 kilometers from the Natanz facility. The complex has two deeply buried tunnel areas and is considered a very secure facility.
Trump has warned of possible US action on Pickaxe Mountain since at least mid-July. His most recent words indicate that the site remains a significant part of his concerns about Iran’s nuclear activities.
The Natanz complex has already been attacked during the conflict. Two nuclear enrichment reactors were located there, and the complex was bombed in March during US-Israeli military attacks on Iran. Israel had also struck Natanz during last year’s 12-day conflict with Iran.

The tubes are located deep underground, distinguishing the facility from other Iranian nuclear installations.
