US President Donald Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to make a deal to end the Trump Putin Ukraine war conflict, but a personal dispute between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is making diplomacy difficult.
On Wednesday, Trump said he had a good chat with Putin and believes the Russian leader wants to reach an accord. However, he stated that the fundamental issue is Putin’s disdain for Zelenskyy.
Trump stated that progress would be facilitated if both leaders were prepared to sit down and hash out a solution. He stated that the relationship between the two presidents is impeding progress.
Trump Putin Ukraine war talks face a major hurdle
According to Trump, Putin wants to negotiate an agreement to cease the bloodshed in Ukraine. He also stated that Zelenskyy must be willing to reach an agreement in order for peace talks to proceed.
According to Trump, the most significant impediment is the personal animosity between Putin and Zelensky. He characterized the two leaders as persons who despise each other.
Trump made the remarks just before heading for the Republican midterm gathering in Dallas, Texas. His words demonstrated that he is still hopeful that diplomacy would finally bring the war to a conclusion.
The US president has continued to discuss the idea of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. In his most recent statements, he emphasized the importance of both sides being able to put aside their disagreements and reach an agreement.
Trump also talks about Iran war
During the same speech, Trump discussed the conflict with Iran and claimed that US strikes had destroyed nine Iranian ships or tankers.
“We have knocked out nine of their ships,” Trump declared, warning that further attacks could come. He further stated that many of the target tankers were no longer operational.
Trump also talked about Iran’s nuclear program and said he expects the war to stop after the election. He asserted that Iran is attempting to sway the election so that a weaker group of leaders may win power and allow the country to retain its nuclear weapons.
The president stated that his strategy goes beyond a nuclear deal. He maintained that other problems would be included in any larger agreement, claiming that subjects on the table currently were not discussed three months ago.
For the time being, Trump’s comments on the Trump-Putin Ukraine war hint to diplomacy as the preferred course of action, but he noted that the fractured relationship between Putin and Zelenskyy remains a significant impediment to reaching an accord.
