India gifts BHISHM Cube medical system to Kyrgyzstan : On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presented two sets of BHISHM Cube modular trauma care systems to his Kyrgyz counterpart, Major General Mukambetov Ruslan Mustafaevich, demonstrating India’s commitment to humanitarian relief.

The ‘Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita & Maitri’ (BHISHM) Cubes were delivered during a bilateral meeting in Bishkek between the Defence Minister and the Kyrgyz leader. The indigenously built cubes enable treatment within the golden hour, providing the first line of defense and saving valuable lives.

The BHISHM project, which is part of Project Aarogya Maitri, is an innovative emergency medical aid programme. Its core consists of compact, portable “mini cubes” stocked with necessary medicines and equipment that are meant for rapid deployment in a variety of circumstances.

India has made a significant humanitarian contribution by donating its modern medical equipment, the BHISHM Cube, to Kyrgyzstan. This step demonstrates India’s expanding involvement in global support, but it also raises concerns about how effective such assistance will be on the ground.
