UAE Intercepts 9 Ballistic Missiles and 33 Drones today

Abu Dhabi : According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, today, the UAE’s air defence systems intercepted nine ballistic missiles and 33 drones launched from Iran.

According to the ministry, since the commencement of the Iranian attacks, the country’s air defences have dealt with 294 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,600 drones.

According to the statement, six people died in the attacks, including Emiratis, Pakistanis, Nepalis, and Bangladeshis.

Authorities also reported 141 minor to moderate injuries among people of various nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepali, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, and Swedish citizens.

The Ministry of Defence stated that it is fully prepared to deal with any threats and respond decisively to any actions that could jeopardise the country’s security, and that measures are ongoing to protect the UAE’s sovereignty, stability, and national interests.

The statement stated that since the fight began, UAE troops have intercepted 294 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and around 1,600 drones launched by Iran. According to the statement, these attacks resulted in six deaths and 141 “minor to moderate injuries”.

The defence ministry stated that it is fully prepared to resist any threats and defend the UAE’s sovereignty, security, and national interests.

Iran claims to have launched naval attacks on US bases in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.

Iran’s navy said it attacked US sites in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in many waves, focusing on aviation fuel storage tanks, aircraft, and Patriot radar systems.

Iranian navy troops launched “several consecutive waves” of attacks against US forces at three military locations in the region: Sheikh Isa base in Bahrain and Al Dhafra base in Abu Dhabi, IRGC Navy chief Admiral Alireza Tangsiri said Iranian media.

UAE visitors delay visa extensions as overstay fines are lifted amid airline problems.

Many tourists are delaying visa extensions while they wait for regular flights to restart because the UAE has eliminated visa overstay charges for travellers stuck due to flight disruptions.

As travellers wait for flights to resume despite high ticket prices, travel agents report a decline in visa renewal enquiries. Although usual payments still apply for those who opt to extend or renew their visas, the waiver permits travellers to remain without fines if their visas expire.
