Earlier on Sunday, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Pakistan’s envoy in Kabul in response to what it characterised as Pakistani “army attacks” on Afghanistan’s eastern provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika.

In a post on X, the Ministry stated that the envoy was summoned following strikes that it claimed resulted in “dozens” of victims.

The report states that “the Pakistani Ambassador in Kabul was summoned by the IEA’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.” “In response to the Pakistani army’s attacks on Afghanistan’s Nangarhar and Paktika provinces, in which dozens of fellow countrymen were martyred and wounded, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the IEA summoned the Pakistani Ambassador in Kabul.”

Furthermore, on Sunday, the International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF) issued an urgent alert following credible allegations of a deadly airstrike in Afghanistan’s Behsud District.

The charity alleged in a statement on the social media platform X that a Pakistani military strike targeted a civilian residence, resulting in the ”massacre of at least 16 members of a single family.”

According to verifiable local sources given by the IHRF, the victims, who included men, women, and children, ranged in age from a one-year-old infant to an elderly person of 80 years.

According to the organization, this attack represents “not only a loss of life, but the complete annihilation of a family lineage.”

While 16 family members were slain, two children miraculously escaped the strike, and at least one other person, Riyazullah, aged 20, was injured.

Shahabuddin, 80, Sharakat, 30, and Muhmanda, 40, died along with several other adults and youngsters.

The IHRF underlined the humanity of those who died, saying, “They are not numbers; they are human beings.”

The strike in Behsud appears to be part of a larger military assault, as Tolo News reported that Pakistani jets performed repeated airstrikes in the Khogyani region of Nangarhar and targeted a religious seminary in the Bermal district of Paktika province.

Since Saturday, Pakistan has reportedly carried out repeated strikes in Bermal and Argun in Paktika, as well as Khogyani, Behsud, and Ghani Khel districts in Nangarhar.
