White House Says Iran War Could Involve Ground Forces, Epic Fury to Stop Once Goals Met

Washington, DC [US]: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Tuesday  that the United States has not ruled out the possibility of deploying troops on the ground in Iran and that the country’s military actions will cease once Epic Fury’s goals are met.

During the media briefing, she said these things while answering questions from the media.

When asked about Democrat Senator Blumenthal’s concern about the likelihood of boots on the ground, Leavitt told reporters, “As for boots on the ground, the President has talked about it several times; sensibly, he does not rule out any alternatives as Commander-in-Chief. So, once again, I’d be hesitant to confirm anything a Democrat on Capitol Hill says right now about the President’s thinking.”

According to The Hill, Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal departed a Senate Armed Services Committee briefing on the Iran war on Tuesday, telling reporters that he believes the Trump administration is on the verge of deploying American forces in Iran.

He said to the Hill that “We seem to be on a path toward deploying American troops on the ground in Iran to accomplish any of the potential objectives” .

Leavitt stated that US military actions in Iran will finish after Operation Epic Fury’s objectives are completed. When those goals are fulfilled, the President will order a stop to these activities when he believes Iran no longer poses a credible danger to the United States of America,” she stated.

She stated, “The United States military is making remarkable progress toward meeting our military objectives for Operation Epic Fury. More than 5,000 enemy targets have been hit thus far. Since the beginning of Operation Epic Fury, Iran’s ballistic missile assaults have decreased by more than 90%, while drone attacks have decreased by around 85%. The US is also annihilating the Iranian regime’s navy, having destroyed over 50 Iranian naval vessels, including a large drone carrier ship. None of the regime’s vessels operate in important regional waterways, and the Iranian navy has been classified as combat ineffective.”

Leavitt went on to say, “The US military is dismantling Iran’s missile development infrastructure. Our amazing B-2 bombers recently dropped scores of 2,000-pound penetrator bombs on deeply buried missile positions.”

The comments coincide with a worsening security situation in West Asia, which has led to the conflict spreading beyond Iran. Iranian retaliatory strikes, employing drones and missiles, have targeted U.S. military installations, embassies, and civilian/energy infrastructure in neighbouring Gulf countries, such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan.

The battle has created substantial interruptions to global energy supplies, particularly near the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 20% of the world’s oil travels.
