The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, ADNOC, and L’IMAD Holding, is hosting the event under the subject “Advanced Industry. Emerging Stronger.” It is organized by ADNEC Group.
Sheikha Latifa complimented the “Make it in The Emirates” exhibition’s quick development, describing it as a concerted national effort to boost the UAE’s position as a global hub for advanced industry and an innovative economy.
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, visited the fifth edition of the “Make it in the Emirates” expo in Abu Dhabi, where government officials and industry leaders gathered to highlight the country’s expanding manufacturing sector.
UAE industrial growth push highlighted at exhibition
The event, which takes place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from May 4 to May 7, is regarded as the region’s largest industrial exhibition.
It brings together over 1,200 organizations from 12 areas, including innovative manufacturing, energy, and technology.
During her visit, Sheikha Latifa complimented the exhibition’s quick expansion, calling it a strong indication of the UAE’s concerted national commitment to strengthen its position as a global hub for sophisticated industries.
She stated that the platform reflects the country’s overarching objective of creating a diverse and sustainable economy powered by innovation and technology.
According to officials, the expo also helps a national effort to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce dependency on imports.
This year’s major objective is to localize around 5,000 items in the UAE, creating new prospects for businesses and investors.
The show is part of the larger “Make it in the Emirates” campaign, which was launched in 2021 to promote indigenous manufacturing and attract worldwide investment.
The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology is spearheading the endeavor in collaboration with major institutions and private-sector companies.
UAE innovation and youth empowerment drive gains focus
A key subject of the tour was the role of young people, entrepreneurs, and small enterprises in defining the UAE’s future economy.
Sheikha Latifa emphasized the importance of innovators and startups, stating that the country is creating an environment that converts ideas into practical projects.
She went through numerous areas of the show, including displays about industrial heritage, innovative technology platforms, and initiatives to promote young inventors.
Officials stated that small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) account for around 61% of participants, demonstrating their growing relevance in the national economy.
The expo is expected to draw approximately 120,000 attendees, indicating a high interest from investors, students, and industry professionals.
Experts say such events help to create jobs, foster entrepreneurship, and reinforce supply lines in a quickly changing global market.
However, issues remain. Global economic challenges, evolving trade patterns, and rivalry from other manufacturing hubs may stymie expansion if not skillfully controlled.
Analysts feel that continuing investment in technology, skills, and innovation will be crucial to sustaining progress.
For the time being, the exhibition delivers a clear message: the UAE is rapidly positioning itself as a leader in advanced industry while training its workers and businesses for the future.
