Sharjah News: Indian Dentist and Mother of Two Dies After Collapsing at Home

Sharjah news: A 32-year-old Indian woman and qualified dentist died after collapsing at her home in the Al Qasimia area of Sharjah on Monday morning, her family said. Dr Afeena Raheem was a mother of two young children and had taken a break from her dental career to look after them.

Yasar T, Afeena’s husband, was at work at the incident. Yasar is a teacher and wasn’t at home when his wife collapsed.

Ramsheena, Afeena’s sister-in-law, was at the house with her son at the time. According to her husband, Hakeem, Ramsheena had sent her son to school before going to bed because she was on vacation.

Hakeem, who lives in Saudi Arabia, traveled to the UAE after learning of Afeena’s death. He stated that he spoke with Ramsheena over the phone about 9 a.m. that day.

Sharjah News: Family Describes What Happened

Hakeem stated that Ramsheena awoke after hearing the younger child cry. She went to see what had happened and discovered Afeena lying collapsed in the kitchen.

Ramsheena instantly attempted to assist her sister-in-law. According to Hakeem, she administered CPR and phoned an ambulance.

Emergency personnel transported Afeena to a private hospital for treatment. However, physicians were unable to resuscitate her, and she was subsequently confirmed dead, according to family members.

The specific cause of Afeena’s death remains unknown. Her family stated they are looking for more information on what caused her abrupt collapse.

Family Awaits Cause of Death and Paperwork

Afeena’s spouse stated that she had been in good health with no known underlying medical concerns. Her death was unexpected, and the family is still waiting for answers about what happened that morning.

Following her passing, the family is currently completing the necessary legalities. They are waiting for the death announcement and other formalities before her remains can be sent to her village in Kerala.

Afeena had left dentistry to focus on raising her two children. Her family is currently making arrangements to send her remains to India.

Authorities have also been approached for details on the circumstances and cause of death. A response is still awaited.
