Enrich Money CEO Ponmudi R has connected gold’s recent depreciation to ongoing inflation, high crude oil costs, and anticipation of future interest rate rises from the US Federal Reserve.

Gold declined roughly 2.72% over the reporting week, falling below $4,000 per ounce and reaching a low of around $3,881 on Friday. Silver underperformed, dropping between 8% and 9% and sliding below $50 per ounce for the first time in 11 months.

Ponmudi also mentioned the pressure from decline in US technology equities. Concerns about the returns on huge artificial intelligence investments prompted margin calls and forced selling in precious metals, adding to the downward pressure.

Gold Rates in India Today vs UAE and Gulf Markets

When the listed international rates are translated into Indian rupees, the prices for 24-carat gold in certain Gulf marketplaces fall. The UAE pricing was ₹12,072 per gram, which equates to ₹1,20,720 for 10 grams.

Bahrain reported a stated pricing of ₹11,971 per gram, or ₹1,19,710 for 10 grams. In Kuwait, the price per gram was ₹12,117, whereas in Saudi Arabia, it was ₹12,168.

Oman had a price of ₹12,219 per gram, whereas Qatar had a cost of ₹12,202.

Country 24K price per gram (INR)
Bahrain ₹11,971
Kuwait ₹12,117
Oman ₹12,219
Qatar ₹12,202
Saudi Arabia ₹12,168
UAE ₹12,072

The reported 24-carat values in the listed Gulf markets were lower than India’s cost of ₹13,888 per gram. However, the comparison only considers published gold rates; extra taxes, jewelry-making fees, and other expenditures are not included in the amounts supplied.

Ponmudi anticipates that inflation and the potential of another US Federal Reserve rate hike in December will continue to be major influences in gold and silver prices. Lower prices may entice central bank purchases, but any rebound will be dependent on broader market circumstances.

For India, currency swings will be important. Currency movements, crude oil prices, and foreign capital flows may all have an impact on domestic bullion rates, as well as worldwide gold prices.

Ponmudi also mentioned the pressure from decline in US technology equities. Concerns about the returns on huge artificial intelligence investments prompted margin calls and forced selling in precious metals, adding to the downward pressure.
