Elizabeth Holmes Documentary Revealed as Telluride’s Surprise Secret Screening

The Elizabeth Holmes documentary was confirmed to be the mystery film played during Telluride’s surprise secret showing on Sunday. Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s new film, You Can See Everything, has its international premiere during the festival.

The showing garnered some of the largest queues at Telluride thus far. Festivalgoers were also requested to turn in their phones before entering, keeping the film’s details hidden until the screening began.

Elizabeth Holmes Documentary Follows Her Life Before Prison

The documentary focuses on Holmes shortly before she began serving her prison sentence. According to the film’s official synopsis, Holmes welcomed a suspicious film crew to document her life 34 days before she was scheduled to go to prison.

What begins as a careful study at Holmes expands into a three-year cinematic expedition. Directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim are behind the film, which builds on their previous work recording the former Theranos founder.

A preview released following the screening shows Holmes speaking frankly about how she perceives herself. In the video, she claims that she is being honest and wonders why she would have any motive to deceive the filmmakers.

The teaser heightens interest in the documentary, especially because Holmes rose to prominence in the Theranos controversy.

What Happened to Elizabeth Holmes?

Holmes founded Theranos, a Silicon Valley business that claimed to be able to do tests for various ailments with only a little sample of blood.

Her enterprise received a lot of attention and investment. In 2015, Holmes was dubbed the youngest and wealthiest self-made female billionaire in America.

That success eventually faded as doubts arose over whether Theranos’ equipment could truly conduct the tests Holmes promised it could.

In 2018, Holmes was convicted of fraud related to Theranos. She was later sentenced to more than 11 years in prison, and she is still completing her term.

The documentary now gives audiences a chance to see Holmes during the period leading up to her imprisonment, while also showing how the filmmakers spent years documenting her.

You Can See Everything is expected to be released in October. The Telluride screening was its world debut, and the newly released teaser gives the public an early look at the picture.
