Dubai is preparing to make daily life easier for residents with a major expansion of the DubaiNow app, but the rapid growth of digital services is also expected to increase pressure on cybersecurity and system performance.
Officials indicated that more than 180 new services will be added to the DubaiNow platform by February 2027 as part of Dubai’s larger digital transformation goal. The initiative’s goal is to provide a single platform via which residents may access both government and private services without having to visit various offices or websites.
Digital Dubai is leading the initiative in collaboration with a number of government entities. Authorities recently held a dedicated bootcamp to accelerate the integration process and increase departmental collaboration.
According to officials, the move helps Dubai achieve its long-term objective of creating a seamless digital environment powered by artificial intelligence and connected government systems. Residents are expected to use the app to conduct various daily duties, such as bill payments, transportation, health services, education support, legal procedures, and residency-related activities.
DubaiNow, Digital Services Expansion Expected to Improve Daily Life
The expansion is projected to help millions of residents, expats, and visitors who already rely on the DubaiNow platform for crucial services. The app presently connects users to hundreds of government and private sector services provided by dozens of bodies throughout Dubai.
According to officials, the impending changes would improve access to services and eliminate paperwork, allowing consumers to complete procedures more swiftly via mobile devices. The government also hopes to minimize wait times and improve user experience by consolidating disparate departments into a single digital system.
Matar Al Hemeiri, CEO of the Digital Dubai Government Establishment, referred to the program as a significant shift in public service delivery. He explained that the new system is intended to provide customers with a more seamless and connected experience while also helping Dubai’s smart city objectives.
The project is based on directives from Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who has vigorously encouraged digital innovation and AI-based government services in recent years.

While the expansion promises increased convenience, experts think that the rising reliance on digital systems may present new technological and security issues.
As more services go online, government organizations may require more robust cybersecurity solutions to secure customer data and ensure stable digital operations. Increased app traffic may necessitate ongoing improvements to infrastructure and customer support mechanisms.
Dubai has already established itself as one of the Middle East’s premier smart cities, and officials hope that the extended DubaiNow platform will bolster that reputation even more. The government believes that uniform digital access will increase productivity, lower administrative expenses, and help Dubai’s rapidly rising population.
The DubaiNow app now provides services pertaining to transportation, housing, travel, healthcare, education, and public safety, with additional functions scheduled to be added gradually over the following two years.
