CBSE CTET February 2026 : According to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), more than 25 lakh students have registered online for the CTET February 2026 exam. The registration process ran for 22 days, from November 27 to December 18, 2025. The exam will be administered on February 8, 2026.

The number of registrations has increased since the last two CTET tests. In the CTET July 2024, a total of 20,25,554 candidates registered. In the CTET December 2024, 16,72,748 candidates registered. The last three days of registration for the February 2026 exam saw a surge in applications. On December 16th, 1,93,182 candidates registered. On December 17, the number increased to 3,53,218, and on December 18, 4,14,981 individuals had completed their applications.

The CTET exam is offered for people who desire to teach in schools all over India. There are two documents:

  1. Paper I is for students who want to teach grades 1-5.
  2. Paper II is for applicants who want to teach grades six through eight.

Every paper has 150 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one point, with no negative marking. Each paper has a time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates can take either Paper I or Paper II, or both, depending on which classes they wish to teach.

Following CTET registration, what are the next steps?

Now that the registration is complete, candidates should focus on the following actions to keep prepared for the exam:

  • Download the admission card. CBSE will release CTET February 2026 admission cards a few weeks before the exam.
  • Make sure you get your admit card from the official CTET website as soon as it becomes accessible.
  • Check your information: Once you’ve received your admit card, double-check that your name, exam date, exam center, and paper are all accurate. If you spot any errors, please report them to CBSE right away to avoid complications on exam day.
  • Preparation for the exam: Read the material thoroughly, solve previous year’s question papers, and practice time management. Planning your strategy will allow you to finish the 2.5-hour exam without worry.
  • Follow exam instructions: The CBSE will provide clear recommendations on exam day. Make sure you understand the reporting time, what objects you may bring to the exam hall, and any safety or health requirements. Following these guidelines will help you have a stress-free exam day.
