Trump Iran strike : On Sunday, US President Donald Trump announced that 48 Iranian leaders had been killed in a joint military operation against Iran by the US and Israel. Following the confirmation that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, was killed in the combined strikes, this event occurred.

“The success we’re experiencing is unbelievable—48 leaders were lost in a single shot. In a Fox News interview, Trump stated, “And it’s moving along quickly.”

The operation, according to the US president, was a devastating blow to Iran’s military command structure and leadership. He stated in a different interview that he has consented to Iran’s desire for negotiations.

Additionally, Trump declared Sunday morning that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, had been assassinated.

The development, he claimed, offers Iranians their “greatest chance” to “take back” their nation. But in a post on Truth Social, he cautioned Tehran against intensifying the battle, saying that if attacks persisted, the US will react “WITH A FORCE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE!”

The operation is scheduled for several months.

The simultaneous US-Israeli strike had been planned for months, according to officials. Key Iranian military installations were targeted in the operation, including air defence systems, Revolutionary Guard command centers, missile and drone launch locations, and military airfields.

Israel claimed to have assassinated Iran’s defence minister, the secretary of the Iranian Security Council, and the head of the Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The strikes occurred at the beginning of the Iranian workweek and during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Iran uses drone and missile strikes in retaliation.

Iran conducted what US authorities called “hundreds of missile and drone attacks” after the strikes. The US military reported limited damage at US locations and no American casualties about 12 hours after the operation started.

Fears that the battle would spread led to a rapid increase in regional tensions as several Gulf countries reported intercepting missiles.

Growing regional and international issues

Global authorities are worried about the possibility of a wider regional conflict as a result of the escalation. Diplomatic efforts are under strain as both sides trade military strikes and warnings.

The situation represents one of the worst escalations in US-Iran hostilities in recent years, leaving the region on edge, with Trump claiming that 48 Iranian leaders were killed in a single operation.
