CBSE Board Exams Fake Notice: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted a false report that the Middle Eastern region’s Class 10 and 12 board exams have been cancelled. The board acknowledged that the circular is not genuine and promised to provide an official correction soon.

Currently, more than 43 lakh students are taking the board exams in 8,074 locations for Class 10 and 7,574 locations for Class 12 across India and 26 foreign countries.

The fraudulent letter claimed that certain board exams were being cancelled owing to unusual global circumstances and ongoing hostilities in various countries. It also announced the cancellation of language papers till February 28 and the Class 10 Social Science (SST) examination on March 7, 2026. Students should be aware that this information is untrue.

CBSE issued an important alert on X (previously Twitter) noting that the message is fraudulent and that an official update would follow.

 

Students are urged to monitor the board’s official website, cbse.gov.in, on a regular basis for accurate updates. A detailed explanation is expected shortly.

Class 10 and 12 board exams will be held from February 17 to April 10, 2026. This year, roughly 25 lakh kids will take the Class 10 exam, including 14 lakh boys and 10.9 lakh girls. The Class 12 tests are being taken by around 10.2 lakh males and 8.3 lakh girls.

Additionally, according to this fictitious circular, “marks for these cancelled papers shall be awarded on a composite evaluation criteria including continuous comprehensive evaluation, periodic tests, pre-board examinations, and relevant internal assessment throughout the academic year.” We’ll soon provide the precise formulation.

CBSE has made it clear that none of the instructions in this circular are real, hence parents or students should not believe them. For Middle Eastern schoolchildren taking the CBSE board exams in 2026, the CBSE has not yet issued any further guidelines.
