Trump Delays Hormuz Action as War Fear Hits Wall Street Hard

Amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, Donald Trump claimed he was “hopeful” that Iran would “make a deal” with Washington, just hours after Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that any battle begun by the US would escalate into a “regional war.” Trump went on to say that if the agreement falls through, it will be evident whether Khamenei’s warning was right.

Donald Trump claims the United States has deployed large military assets in the region.

Speaking to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump stated that the US had deployed major military forces in the region but favored a diplomatic solution due to rising tensions between the two nations.

“We have the world’s largest and most powerful ships over there, and we should be able to reach an agreement in a matter of days. If we don’t reach an agreement, we’ll find out whether or not he was correct,” Trump stated.

Iran warns Washington against taking military action.

Notably, the US President’s remarks followed a series of forceful pronouncements by Iran’s Supreme Leader in a series of tweets on X, in which he warned Washington against military action, stressing that any war would not be limited.

“The Americans should know if they launch a war, this time it would be a regional conflict,” Khamenei’s tweet read. He further stated that Iran will not be scared by threats involving warships or aircraft.”It is not unusual for Americans to discuss war, claiming that they will arrive with warships and aircraft. Such remarks have no bearing on the Iranian people. “They shouldn’t try to intimidate the Iranian people with such things,” he wrote.
