US President Donald Trump threatened “every” Democratic governor and mayor on Monday to work with his administration on immigration enforcement, blaming former President Joe Biden for what he called an increase in illegal immigration and violence.

In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed that “During the four years of Crooked Joe Biden and Democrat failed leadership, tens of millions of illegal alien criminals poured into our country,” including “convicted murderers, rapists, kidnappers, drug dealers, and terrorists.”

Trump directly addressed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, urging them to cooperate with federal officials. He stated that state and municipal governments must assist with the “immediate deportation” of “criminal illegal aliens.”

“That is why I am hereby calling on Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and every Democrat Governor and Mayor in the United States of America to formally cooperate with the Trump Administration to enforce our Nation’s Laws,” Mr. Trump wrote.

Trump Demands Deportation of Criminal Illegal Immigrants

Trump’s demands included requiring state prisons and jails to turn over illegal immigrants with criminal records to federal authorities.

He also stated that local police must turn over illegal aliens they arrest and assist federal agents in apprehending individuals wanted for crimes.

Donald Trump Blames ‘Sanctuary Cities’ for Rising Violence

Referring to a recent incident in Minneapolis in which two Americans were slain, Trump labeled it as a “tragic” event and blamed the violence on “Democrat chaos.”

Trump again blasted so-called “sanctuary cities” ruled by Democrats, calling them “the root cause” of many problems. “American cities should be safe sanctuaries for law-abiding American citizens only, not illegal alien criminals,” he said, urging Congress to repeal sanctuary city regulations.

Meanwhile, the Minneapolis case had additional political ramifications. Ken Martin, chair of the Democratic National Committee, accused US Attorney General Pam Bondi of attempting to put pressure on Minnesota politicians. According to The Washington Post, Martin stated that Bondi issued a letter requesting access to state voter rolls shortly after the shooting of Alex Pretti by a Border Patrol agent.

The words and charges have fueled the political debate in the United States about immigration enforcement and public safety.
