Luv Kush Ramleela : Yami Gautam to Perform Ravan Vadh Today at Delhi Dussehra 2026

Bollywood actress Yami Gautam will perform the symbolic Ravan Vadh at Delhi’s Luv Kush Ramleela on October 20, 2026. The event will take place at the Red Fort Ground as part of the city’s Dussehra celebrations.

The theme for this year’s program is “Respect for Women”. The organisers hope that the traditional event will showcase women’s power, dignity, and role in fighting injustice.

Yami, a National Award-winning actress, was recently seen playing Ravan Vadh in a scene from her new film, Nai Naveli. She is scheduled to shoot a symbolic arrow at Ravana in front of a crowd in Delhi.

He explained that women represent love, compassion, and strength, as well as the fortitude to speak up against injustice.

The committee requested that Yami perform Ravan Vadh to share this message with the people. Kumar stated that her involvement will represent women in Delhi and beyond India.

He also explained that Ravana is more than just a mythological character. The committee regards him as an embodiment of arrogance, unfairness, and social problems.

This year’s ceremony will be performed by a woman in order to encourage women’s empowerment, dignity, and respect. The celebration will keep its traditional meaning while highlighting these societal challenges.

They include Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Prabhas, and Kareena Kapoor. Rohit Shetty, a filmmaker, has also been linked with the event.

Yami’s involvement would add to the roster of film celebrities associated with the annual gala. Her attendance also highlights this year’s focus on women’s respect.

Dussehra celebrates the triumph of good over evil. The Ravan Vadh ceremony aims to integrate this historic message with the need to fight injustice and respect women.

The organisers have urged Delhi residents to join the celebrations with their families and children on October 20. The gathering at the Red Fort Ground will blend the traditional Dussehra ritual with this year’s theme of women’s dignity and empowerment.
