Taylor Farms Recall: Salsa and Guacamole Products Recalled Over Salmonella Risk

Taylor Farms Recall : Taylor Farms has voluntarily recalled many prepared food products containing jalapeños, including salsa and guacamole, due to potential salmonella infection risk. The California-based food provider issued the recall on August 9, 2026, after discovering that fresh peppers supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors were also being recalled.

The recall is being conducted as a preventive measure, according to the business. Taylor Farms also stated that it is not aware of any illnesses linked to the recalled items.

Taylor Farms Recall Linked to Jalapeño Investigation

U.S. health regulators have recalled prepared meals containing jalapeños that may be linked to a salmonella probe. Taylor Farms said it ceased receiving peppers from a farmer in Sinaloa, Mexico, after he was identified as a potential cause of the disease.

Coast Citrus Distributors recalled the fresh peppers first and warned customers about the potential contamination. Taylor Farms then pulled the impacted prepared foods from the market.

Taylor Farms Recall Adds Pressure During Ongoing Food Safety Investigations

The latest recall comes at a challenging time for Taylor Farms, which is also facing scrutiny over a separate cyclospora investigation involving lettuce products.

The FDA has connected cyclospora diseases to Central Mexican goods. However, as of August 5, Taylor Farms stated that the FDA had not validated positive cyclospora test results from the company’s lettuce samples.

As a result, Taylor Farms voluntarily ceased all iceberg lettuce sourcing and production from Central Mexico and initiated a safety investigation of its operations.

Salmonella Outbreak Under Investigation Across 27 States

The CDC and FDA are investigating a salmonella epidemic that has infected 345 people in 27 states. 36 people were hospitalized, according to health officials.

The probe has spread to big restaurant chains. Coast Citrus Distributors imported jalapeños for Chipotle Mexican Grill and Qdoba, according to authorities. Both chains ceased using the peppers, while Coast Citrus recalled the remainder of its supplies.

Taylor Farms stated that no illnesses have been related to the goods included in the voluntary recall.

Salmonella infections can result in diarrhea, fever, and abdominal pains. Young children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems are more vulnerable to the sickness.
