Taiwan’s Ministry of National defense (MND) stated

On Saturday, Taiwan’s Ministry of National defense (MND) stated that 12 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait median line and flew into the island’s southern and southeastern air defense identification zones (ADIZ). According to the MND, the aircraft engaged included the Shenyang J-16, the Xian H-6 (a Chinese twin-engine jet heavy bomber), and the KJ-500. Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Presidential Office accused China of inciting tensions with Japan for political gain, just hours after Chinese maritime authorities announced preparations for live-fire missile exercises in the Yellow Sea.

According to The Taipei Times, China’s Maritime Safety Administration has issued a navigation advisory stating that the People’s Liberation Army will launch missiles with live ammunition in the center Yellow Sea from Tuesday to Thursday.

According to The Taipei Times, China also issued a travel warning, suggesting that Chinese nationals in Japan faced increased criminal dangers, which was generally interpreted as reprisal for comments made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

Tensions between China and Japan have risen considerably since Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi made harsh remarks in parliament earlier this month about a potential security threat from China over Taiwan. According to the Global Times, Beijing has now filed a complaint with the United Nations, accusing Japan of making “erroneous” claims.
