SBI PO Prelims 2025 Outcome: Total Number of Openings
- Of the 600 openings, 41 are regular backlog openings and 500 are for regular candidates.
- Five (backlog) and 75 (regular) are set aside for Scheduled Caste (SC).
- Scheduled Caste (SC) is represented by 37 (Regular) + 36 (Backlog), Other Backward Classes (OBC) by 135; Economically Weaker Section (EWS) by 50; and Unreserved Category (UR) by 203.
SBI PO Exam 2025: The Selection Procedure
Phase 3 and the main exam come after the preliminary exam in the SBI recruitment process. One hour is allotted for the preliminary exam, which consists of 100 questions, each worth one mark. Three subjects—English language proficiency, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability—are tested.

The preliminary test was conducted on August 4, 2025, as the first step in SBI’s annual probationary officer recruitment exercise. This year, the bank published 541 positions, making the competition especially fierce considering the large application pool.
