Samsung appears to be planning an update to its camera capabilities for the next generation of mid-range smartphones. According to a recent source, the Samsung Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 may be unveiled next year with improved imaging capabilities.
This leak is prototype software code, indicating that Samsung intends to improve camera quality on the A series before its introduction in 2026.
Both devices feature larger 50MP primary cameras.
According to Smartprix, the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 are expected to have a 50-megapixel main sensor. Depending on the location, this could be Sony’s IMX 906 or Samsung’s ISOCELL S5KGNJ sensor.
Both sensors are larger (1/1.56-inch) and represent a significant improvement over the Galaxy A36’s 1/1.95-inch sensor. This corresponds to a larger sensor that can capture more light, resulting in better low-light image quality and detail.

Samsung Galaxy A57: Improved Secondary Cameras
Because of the additional camera features, the Galaxy A57 will most likely rise to the top of Samsung’s midrange lineup. The gadget is expected to have a 13MP ultra-wide camera with the ISOCELL S5K3L6 image sensor and a 5MP macro lens with the GalaxyCore GC05A3 image sensor.
For selfies, the Galaxy A57 could include a 12 MP front camera with the ISOCELL S5K3LC image sensor, giving it a superior camera system than other budget models.
Samsung Galaxy A37: Same main camera, simpler arrangement.
The Galaxy A37 could possibly feature the same enhanced 50MP primary camera, but with more basic secondary cameras. Rumours suggest that the camera will have an 8MP ultra-wide camera with the GalaxyCore GC08A3 sensor, as well as a 5MP macro camera from the Galaxy A57.
The rumored specifications for the Galaxy A37 include a 12MP GalaxyCore GC12A2 front-facing camera, which immediately distinguishes it from the higher-end A57.

Launch timeline and what to expect.
These specifications were leaked from early software versions, thus adjustments can still be expected dependent on pricing and component availability. According to sources, Samsung will release the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 in February of next year, slightly earlier than the customary March release date.
If everything goes as planned, Samsung’s mid-range products might become significantly more competitive in terms of photography capabilities.
