Doha [Qatar] : The Qatari government has severely denounced an attack linked to Iran that targeted a residential complex in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, killing two civilians and injuring several others.

In an official statement issued on Sunday on X, Qatar characterised the strike as a severe violation of international rules and warned that such acts might further destabilise an already difficult regional situation. The statement highlighted that assaults on civilian targets violate international law and risk increasing violence throughout West Asia.
“The State of Qatar strongly condemns the Iranian attack that targeted a residential facility in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, and resulted in the death of two civilians and injuries to others,” the statement read.
Qatar claims that the incident raises worries about escalating tensions in the region and is a blatant violation of globally recognised legal principles. The government cautioned that if international norms are not followed and diplomatic efforts are not made, such acts could result in more widespread instability.

“Qatar deems the attack a flagrant violation of international law and its principles, and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region,” continued the statement.

The remarks were made by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which also disputed Tehran’s excuses for launching assaults in the area. Doha expressed its opposition to acts that target neighbouring states or escalate hostilities.”The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates Qatar’s categorical rejection of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s justifications for targeting regional countries,” the statement stated.
Qatar also underlined the necessity of upholding international legal frameworks and maintaining stable relations with regional neighbours. Officials warned all sides to avoid actions that could escalate tensions and extend the scope of conflict.The Ministry emphasises the need of adhering to international law and good neighbourliness values, as well as avoiding anything that could enlarge the circle of tension in the region,” according to the statement.
Following the event, Doha voiced its sympathy with Saudi Arabia and underlined its support for the kingdom’s steps to defend national security and stability.
“The Ministry also expresses Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken to preserve its security and stability,” according to the press release.
