Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning Iran for “brutal attacks
The Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning Iran for “brutal attacks” on important facilities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates over the past two days. The ministry cautioned that such activities endanger not just national sovereignty, but also global energy security, sea navigation, and environmental safety.
The condemnation comes as the Qatar Ministry of Defence confirmed that ballistic missiles launched from Iran hit Ras Laffan Industrial City on Qatar’s northern coast, causing damage to the country’s vital gas infrastructure. Officials said the strike posed a “direct threat” to Qatar’s national security.
Doha stated that the bombings violated “all red lines” by targeting civilians and key civilian infrastructure. It urged immediate de-escalation steps to avoid additional destabilisation in the region.

The escalation came after the assassination of Esmail Khatib and, days earlier, senior security official Ali Larijani, both of whom Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei has promised to exact revenge on.
