Qatar Air Defences Stop Missiles; Limited Fire Reported in Industrial Zone

Doha [Qatar]: The Qatar Ministry of Interior has verified that emergency response teams are now responding to a wildfire in an industrial zone.

After successfully neutralising an aerial threat, falling debris precipitated the incident.

According to the government, “Civil Defence staff are dealing with a ‘limited fire'” at the facility, which was sparked by “shrapnel falling from an intercepted missile.”

In a social media statement, the ministry issued an update on the area’s safety, saying that “no injuries recorded” so far.

The ground-level emergency is part of a larger response by the nation’s defensive systems. According to Gulf News, Qatar’s Ministry of Defence said that the country was the target of an aerial attack today including “14 Iranian ballistic missiles and several drones”.

In an official statement issued by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the ministry stated that the military response was effective, stating that the “Qatari Armed Forces successfully intercepted all drones and 13 ballistic missiles” launched during the assault.

According to Gulf News, while the majority of the threats were neutralised, “one missile fell in an uninhabited area” after the primary defence systems were circumvented.

Authorities have confirmed that the single missile that hit the ground did so “without causing any losses”.

The military forces remain on high alert following the event, since these developments occur while the larger war between the US, Israel, and Iran approaches its 18th day.

The crisis began on February 28th, following US and Israeli bombings that killed Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Since the start of hostilities, Iran has repeatedly attacked US bases and regional interests to display its retaliatory military capabilities.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence reported that two drones were intercepted and destroyed in the country’s east. Earlier, the ministry reported that six drones were engaged by Saudi forces in the same part of the country and effectively destroyed.

The Kuwait National Guard (KNG) stated that it had successfully intercepted two drones, but did not specify the target or location of the strike.

In a united statement, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members condemned the “sinful Iranian attacks” on Monday and promised to defend their lands.
