Pakistan Warning to India : Pakistan warning on Kolkata raises fresh India tension

Pakistan Warning to India : Pakistan’s defense minister, Khawaja Asif, stated on Saturday that Islamabad would reply with an attack on Kolkata if India engaged in any “future misadventure”.

“If India launches another false-flag operation, God willing, we will take it to Kolkata,” Asif told reporters in his hometown of Sialkot.

In August 2025, Pakistan’s military made a similar warning, indicating that it will attack deep inside India from the eastern front. Kolkata—one of the country’s largest cities and a previous national capital—is the capital of West Bengal, an eastern state.

Meanwhile, Asif said that New Delhi is plotting a “false-flag operation,” suggesting that India may orchestrate an incident with its own operatives or Pakistani captives and blame it on Islamabad, although providing no proof to back up his claim.

Tensions between the two neighbors remain high following last year’s April 22 Pahalgam incident, in which 26 civilians, largely tourists, were slain by Pakistani-backed terrorists.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have risen again following a forceful speech by Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif. He warned that if India engages in any “future misadventure,” Pakistan may hit Kolkata.

The statement came during a media conference in which Asif stated that Pakistan will reply severely to any action taken by India. This warning is interpreted as a response to recent remarks by India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh.

Experts say such remarks reflect rising tensions and distrust between the two nuclear powers.

Strong words but no proof behind claims

Asif further suggested that India may conduct a “false flag” operation. However, he did not present any strong evidence to back up this assertion.

He stated that if such a situation arises, Pakistan will not remain mute and may take action beyond border areas. These words have caused anxiety among security experts.

Many observers argue that such declarations are more political than practical. They are frequently used to convey a statement rather than displaying actual military preparations.

India response shows firm stand on security

On the other side, India has taken a strong stance. Rajnath Singh stated that any misadventure by Pakistan would be met with a “unprecedented and decisive” response.

India’s message is clear: it will not accept any threats to its security. According to defense experts, both countries are employing strong language to demonstrate their power, but actual fighting is not in anyone’s best interests.

Fear vs strategy: what this warning really means

The latest warning has sparked both dread and controversy. Some consider it a genuine threat, while others say it is simply strategic pressure.

Relations between India and Pakistan have long been tense. Statements like this raise tensions and create uncertainty in the region.

There is no immediate hint of fighting. However, such forceful warnings demonstrate how fast the situation can shift.
