BHIM UPI Circle : In the age of digital payments, every family member can now use UPI without the need to create their own bank account. NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) has added the ‘Full Delegation’ functionality of UPI Circle to the BHIM app, allowing primary users to authorize up to five secondary users. Senior citizens, teenagers, and employees can make individual payments of up to ₹15,000 every month. The principal user has complete control by determining the restriction and duration (from one month to five years).

How does the feature function?

New UPI Service :The primary user can now authorize up to best five additional users via BHIM UPI Circle.

The principal user navigates to the UPI Circle section of the BHIM app and issues an invitation to the secondary user by inputting their cellphone number or UPI ID. After selecting a relationship, uploading documents, and setting a monthly limit, they approve with their UPI PIN. If the secondary user agrees to the request, payments will begin after a short cooling period. All transactions will be reflected on the primary’s bank statement under UPI Circle to ensure transparency. This is achievable even without a personal UPI ID or bank account.

Who will profit the most?

– Senior citizens: Parents who are apprehensive to use technology can do their own daily shopping.

– Young children: College students will be able to make canteen or transportation payments without cash.

– Small businesses: Owners will be allowed to delegate fuel and toll payments to staff.

NBSL MD Lalita Nataraj stated that this functionality will boost the UPI ecosystem by expanding the adoption of both partial (permission on each transaction) and complete delegation.
