NEET PG Counselling 2025 : The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) recently extended the deadline for submitting and Registration for round 2 of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET PG) counseling 2025. According to the most recent official update on the website, mcc.nic.in, candidates would have until 4 p.m. on December 29, 2025 to fulfill these processes.
The MCC has announced that the reporting and Registration deadlines for round 2 of postgraduate counselling 2025 have been extended to give candidates more time. Those who were unable to report or finish their enrollment within the earlier deadline might use this extension to confirm their admittance. Candidates who wish to resign from their assigned seat can do so within the extended timeframe.
Previously, the reporting and joining period for NEET PG 2025 round 2 was scheduled to run from December 17 to 25, 2025. Following that, medical institutes were to check the information of candidates who had joined and submit a report to the MCC by December 26, 2025. With the amended schedule, institutes will be able to update candidate details after the revised reporting deadline.
NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 2: Key Details
From December 6 to December 14, 2025, the second phase of counselling began with choice filling and locking.
The seat allocation process took place on December 15 and 16, and the round 2 seat allocation outcome was announced on December 16, 2025.
Admission will be offered to:
- 26,168 Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats
- 13,649 Master of Surgery (MS) seats
- 922 Postgraduate Diploma seats.
- 1,338 Diplomate of National Board (DNB) CET seats.
These seats are offered at 6,102 medical colleges and 649 hospitals in India. The MCC conducts four rounds of All India Quota (AIQ) counselling for NEET PG 2025 qualifiers.
