Munich: US President Donald Trump wants to put an end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict “once and for all,” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Sunday.

On the margins of the Munich Security Conference, Rubio met with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“I met with Ukrainian President @ZelenskyyUa to discuss Ukraine’s security and strengthening defence and commercial ties. Marco Rubio commented on X, “President Trump wants a solution that puts an end to the bloodshed for good.”
The conference takes place against the backdrop of a trilateral summit between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States, which is scheduled to take place in Geneva on February 17 and 18.
Earlier, Zelenskyy indicated that he updated Rubio on Ukraine’s status during the ongoing conflict in advance of the peace talks. He also discussed with Rubio the effects of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy supplies.During my discussion with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio @SecRubio, I briefed him on the front lines, Russian strikes, and the impact of attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The United States, Russia, and Ukraine previously had trilateral discussions in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in January 2026.
According to TASS, the Russian team will be led by Presidential adviser Vladimir Medinsky for the new round of negotiations on February 17 and 18.
