New York : Actor Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni appeared in a New York courthouse on Wednesday to see if her sexual harassment complaint on the production of the 2024 romantic film “It Ends With Us” might be settled before a May trial.
Lawyers’ talks with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni lasted six hours
The lawyers’ conversations lasted six hours until Lively and Baldoni exited the Manhattan federal courthouse separately and went directly to their waiting automobiles without saying anything. Lively walked out with a severe expression, but Baldoni smiled. Their lawyers did not immediately respond.
Settlement talks are typically required before a civil lawsuit goes to trial. They are not held publicly.
Their contentious yearlong legal battle has cast a wide net throughout the entertainment industry, bringing other actors, artists, and celebrities into the spotlight while also raising questions about Hollywood’s power, influence, and gender relations.

Lively sued Baldoni and his hired crisis communications expert, alleging harassment and a coordinated operation to harm her reputation after she complained about his treatment of her on set.
Baldoni and his production business, Wayfarer Studios, countersued Lively and her husband, “Deadpool” actor Ryan Reynolds, for slander and extortion. Judge Lewis J. Liman rejected the claim in June of last year.

The trial, which was set to take place on May 18, was supposed to be attended by celebrities. According to court documents, Lively’s legal team believes that singer Taylor Swift, model Gigi Hadid, actors Emily Blunt, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Hugh Jackman, influencer Candace Owens, media personality Perez Hilton, and designer Ashley Avignone are among those who may have knowledge about the matter.
