New Delhi [India] : On International Women’s Day, Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, praised the contributions of female diplomats and mission workers for enhancing the two countries’ bilateral relations.

The envoy, on the other hand, did so in a ‘Dhurandhar’ fashion, sharing a video clip on X of Australian High Commission diplomats in India celebrating International Women’s Day with a music from filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s directorial effort Dhurandhar.
The video introduces women diplomats from the Australian High Commission, as well as their individual roles, highlighting their contributions to developing the Australia-India friendship.
Philip Green voiced his admiration for the female workforce in a post on X, describing them as “modern Australia” representatives. The High Commissioner shared a video with the women of the High Commission, emphasising their importance on the strengthening diplomatic connections.
He added, “I’m proud to work with the remarkable #women of the Australian High Commission who are working to advance the Australia-India alliance. Meet the trailblazers of @AusHCIndia on #InternationalWomensDay – changemakers and proud representatives of modern Australia.”

The message emphasises the important role that women play in the Australia-India collaboration, which has witnessed greater cooperation in areas ranging from trade and defence to education and technology. By highlighting these “trailblazers,” the High Commissioner’s post demonstrates Australia’s commitment to diversity as an essential component of its diplomatic engagement in New Delhi.
Similarly, cultural diplomacy was used to celebrate the occasion’s spirit on a worldwide scale. On the eve of International Women’s Day, the Consulate General of India in Shanghai held “Vasant” Baithak, a cultural event commemorating Holi and the start of Basant.
The evening, arranged in collaboration with the Chaiti Arts Foundation, included Indian classical music and dance, with the goal of conveying the ethos of new beginnings and cultural harmony. The event, led by India’s Consul General in Shanghai, Pratik Mathur, gathered a diverse crowd of over 200 people, including diplomats.

Beyond diplomatic and cultural circles, the celebrations reached the forefront of global connectedness. The Bureau of Immigration, Government of India, paid appreciation to female professionals in several departments who maintain the smooth operation of travel and security.
In a post on X, the Bureau emphasised the crucial role of women in ensuring “seamless journeys” and distinguished service to the nation.
The Bureau tweeted, “Women keep the world moving. From immigration to CISF, aircraft crews to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, today we honour the women who serve with dedication and pride.”
This tribute acknowledged women’s combined work across numerous agencies, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), stressing their collective commitment to public service on this global day of recognition.
