Flights Suspended at Dubai International Airport After Drone Attack Triggers Fuel Tank Blaze

The Dubai Media Office reported that a drone incident at Dubai International Airport caused a temporary suspension of aircraft operations after it collided with a nearby fuel tank.The Dubai Media Office reported that a drone incident near Dubai International Airport (DXB) caused damage to one of the fuel tanks.

According to authorities, the fire caused by the event was soon extinguished, and no casualties were reported. Emergency reaction personnel were dispatched swiftly to protect the area and handle the incident.

Flights to and from Dubai were momentarily suspended as a precaution as authorities reviewed the situation and maintained the airport’s safety, which is one of the world’s busiest international aviation hubs.

The move comes amid rising regional tensions and a spate of missile and drone attacks in Gulf states tied to the ongoing struggle between Iran, the US, and Israel.

Travellers should contact their respective airlines for the most up-to-date flight information. Further information will be published via official channels as soon as they are available,” the Dubai Media Office stated on X.

According to officials, Iran has launched over 1,800 missiles and drones at the United Arab Emirates since the conflict began, making it one of the primary targets. Most projectiles were intercepted by air defence systems.
