Dubai Traffic Crackdown Shock : Dubai Police have confiscated 1,230 vehicles and issued 33,372 traffic fines as part of the ongoing “Quiet Roads” project, which aims to reduce disruptive driving behaviour and improve quality of life in residential districts.
The initiative, led by the General Department of Traffic, aims to reduce noise pollution, improve road safety, and instill a sense of security in areas.
Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, stated that the program is consistent with Dubai Police’s overall goal to maintain public order and promote community safety.
“Repeated negative traffic behaviors in residential areas, such as excessive noise, reckless driving, and illegal vehicle modifications, all of which directly affect residents’ comfort and wellbeing, prompted the launch of the campaign,” he stated.
He also stated that the project is driven by data analysis of complaints and community reports, which allows authorities to identify hotspots and reoccurring breaches.
“This strategy enables us to conduct focused field operations that produce quantifiable outcomes and foster long-lasting behavioral change,” he stated.
