“We had a rigged election,” Trump stated while addressing the audience, referring to the 2020 election.
The comments occurred as Trump took the stage in Clive, Iowa, to defend his record on affordability while announcing intentions to vigorously campaign for Republican candidates ahead of the November midterm elections. His comments also came at a politically delicate time, as concerns grew that misinformation might impact the campaign narrative.

During his speech, Trump hinted at the prospect of seeking another term in office, despite constitutional limits on presidential tenure.
He asked supporters, “Should we do it a fourth time?”
As he prepares for a busy campaign season, the White House has stated that Trump would spend the coming months on the campaign trail, supporting party nominees in critical battleground states.

“I’m going to do a lot of campaign travel,” Trump declared last week while aboard Air Force One.
Even as he supports an active campaign plan, Trump admitted that sitting presidents have historically struggled in midterm elections. “Sitting presidents don’t seem to do well in the midterms,” observed the vice president.

Despite this, Trump has already hosted campaign-style rallies in North Carolina and Pennsylvania in December, as well as a visit to Michigan earlier this month, all of which are considered critical swing states.
