Venezuela oil : Donald Trump Says India Won’t Buy Iranian Crude, Will Source Oil From Venezuela

Venezuela oil : US President Donald Trump stated that India will purchase Venezuelan oil instead of Iranian fuel. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One on route to Florida, he stated, “China is welcome to come in and make a tremendous deal on oil. We’ve already made a deal. India is moving in, and they will buy Venezuelan oil rather than Iranian oil. So we’ve already conceptualized the agreement. But China is welcome to come in and purchase oil.”

The Indian administration has not responded to Trump’s remarks yet.

Trump’s remarks come a day after the US indicated that New Delhi would soon be allowed to restart purchases of Venezuelan crude oil. US policymakers are pressing India to consider Venezuelan oil as an alternative to Russian imports as part of Washington’s broader campaign to reduce financial flows to Moscow during the Ukraine conflict.

Earlier, Trump stated that Venezuela offered Washington “50 million barrels of oil” worth USD 5.2 billion, to which he agreed.

Speaking to the press about the renaming of Southern Boulevard to Donald Trump Boulevard, Trump stated, “We’re dealing with the new President. We’re dealing with a lot of the individuals who run the country…They said we have 50 million barrels of oil that needs to be processed right away because there isn’t enough room. Will you accept it? I replied, “We’ll take it.” It equates to USD 5.2 billion.”

Trump’s words also confirm a recent report by New York-based news outlet Semafor that the United States had made its first sale of Venezuelan oil worth USD 500 million.

According to the Semafor report, income from oil sales is currently held in US government-controlled bank accounts, as specified in Friday’s order, according to an administration official. A second senior administration official stated that the principal account is situated in Qatar.
