Dimona Missile Attack

A huge fireball was seen falling from the sky as missiles hit areas near Israel’s Dimona and Arad cities. The attack came as Iran responded to earlier strikes on its nuclear facilities.

Several structures were reduced to rubble and dust during Saturday night’s strikes, which are significant given Dimona’s proximity to Israel’s major nuclear research site.

Videos Show Panic

Many videos shared on social media showed the moment of impact. Loud explosions were heard, and homes were shaken by the blasts. Windows and doors were blown off in some houses.

People inside their homes were seen running for safety. Personal belongings were thrown around due to the force of the explosions.

 

Injuries Reported

According to first responders, 84 individuals were injured in Arad, 10 of them critically, while 33 were injured in Dimona. A 10-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by shrapnel in Dimona, as was a 40-year-old lady. some in serious condition.

A child and a woman were among those critically injured after being hit by flying debris. Rescue teams reached the sites quickly and shifted the injured to hospitals.

Government and Military Response

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that more emergency teams would be dispatched to Arad and Dimona. He promised to keep bombing Iran following what he described as a “very difficult evening.”

Iranian officials, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said the strike shows a new phase of the conflict.

 

Nuclear Site Status

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that no damage had been detected at Israel’s critical nuclear research facilities. According to information from regional states, no abnormal radiation levels were identified following the incident.

Since 1958, the secluded city of Dimona has housed Israel’s major nuclear research center in the Negrev desert. The country is commonly thought to have nuclear weapons, however its government have neither confirmed nor denied this.

Rising Tensions

The latest attack has increased tension in the region. Both sides have carried out strikes in recent days, raising fears of further escalation.

Experts say the situation remains serious, and more developments are expected soon.
