UK Education Hub Unveiled at British Council to Boost India-UK Vision 2035

New Delhi [India] : On Wednesday, the British Council established the UK Education Hub to enhance the India-UK Vision 2035 initiative.

UK Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the UK Education Hub at the British Council and stated

David Lammy, UK Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the UK Education Hub at the British Council, the UK’s international organization for educational opportunities and cultural exchange, in the presence of Lindy Cameron OB CBE, British High Commissioner to India, Alison Barrett MBE, Country Director India, British Council, Prof Eloise Philips, Academic Provost of Southampton University Delhi, and dignitaries.

The British Council, which has led education cooperation between the UK and India for over 78 years, has established the UK Education HUB to help deliver on this shared vision by providing a single, structured platform for engagement, collaboration, and alignment with India’s National Education Policy and the UK International Education Strategy.

“To build a better future, we must invest in the next generation who will shape it,” stated UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy. “Expanding access to education will create lasting change.”

“By bringing together governments, universities, and institutions, the UK Education Hub in New Delhi will strengthen links with India, sharing expertise, stimulating innovation, and strengthening our economies. This underlines our common ambition of making the UK-India Vision 2035 a reality. Delivering great education today will change the world of tomorrow, empowering new generations of entrepreneurs, scientists, and leaders to create our common future,” he added.

The Hub will administer the Annual Ministerial India-UK Education Dialogue and work to accomplish India-UK Vision 2035’s education goals. It will serve as a platform for structured engagement among UK institutions, Indian government departments, regulators, and sector bodies, enabling smooth two-way information transmission and a better relationship between the two nations’ education sectors.

The UK Education Hub will assist in the conduct of the Annual Ministerial India-UK Education Dialogue, coordinate information and assistance requests for all UK institutions interested in engaging in India, and establish and maintain the UK institutions in India Members Programme.

The plan will help to advance mutual recognition of degrees and provide ongoing support for inward and outward education and skills missions between the two countries.

The UK Education Hub strengthens India and the UK’s shared objective to deepen collaboration in education, research, and skills development by providing a single, unified interface for participation, thereby boosting people-to-people ties and fostering equitable, sustainable growth.
