Indians Safe in Al Kharj Incident, Confirms Embassy of India, Riyadh

Riyadh [Saudi Arabia] Al Kharj incident : According to the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, no Indian nationals were killed in an incident in which a military projectile fell squarely on a residential structure in Al Kharj, albeit one was hurt.

The embassy stated in a post on X that the injured person is being treated at a government hospital in Al Kharj and that officials are in communication with Saudi authorities regarding the situation.

The Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia said on X, “It is a matter of relief that no Indians were killed in the sad incident at Al Kharj yesterday evening. The Embassy has communicated with the relevant Saudi authorities about this problem. Last night, Counsellor (CW) Shri Y. Sabir paid a visit to Al Kharj and met with the injured Indian national involved in the terrible occurrence. He is now receiving care at a government hospital in Al Kharj.”

The incident occurred as the continuing crisis involving the United States, Israel, and Iran entered its second week.

Earlier, hundreds of people flocked to the streets in Iran to celebrate Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of the late Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, being named Iran’s next Supreme Leader, according to Press TV.

Prior to this, amid rising global oil prices caused by intensifying conflict in West Asia, US President Donald Trump stated the “short-term” increase is worth it if it eliminates Tehran’s nuclear threat.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that if Iran’s nuclear capabilities are dismantled, oil prices will “drop rapidly,” adding that “only fools would think differently.”

Trump added, “Short-term oil prices, which will drop rapidly when the destruction of the Iran nuclear threat is over, is a very small price to pay for U.S.A. and World, Safety and Peace.” “Only fools would think differently.”
