Subject to slot availability and other current circumstances at the departure stations at the time, Air India and Air India Express would run a total of 62 non-scheduled flights to and from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia in addition to the scheduled routes.

The Indian Embassy in Doha issued an advice stating that about 500 Indian nationals have previously taken aircraft operated by Qatar Airways to India and other international locations.

Embassy stated in a post on X

The embassy stated in a post on X on Friday that the passengers flew to Kochi and other locations on Qatar Airways aircraft. For humanitarian reasons, the airline also made it possible for the mortal remains of two Indian nationals who passed away from natural causes to be transported to Kochi with their accompanying family members.

According to the embassy, Qatar Airways’ flight operations are restricted because Qatar’s airspace is only partially open.

The restricted flying operations come after Iranian missile and drone attacks against US military installations, embassies, and civilian infrastructure throughout the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, have escalated the security crisis in West Asia.

Global energy supplies have been severely disrupted by the battle, especially in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz, where 20% of the world’s oil passes.
