The conference takes place against the backdrop of several days of combat between Afghan and Pakistani forces, raising concerns in Beijing about the potential implications on regional stability.
According to a statement released by Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese envoy expressed concern about the deteriorating situation and expressed hope that the two neighbouring countries’ differences could be resolved through diplomatic engagement and dialogue, according to Tolo News.

The statement states, “In his remarks, the foreign minister referred to the Islamic Emirate’s balanced and economy-oriented foreign policy, emphasising that Afghanistan desires relations based on mutual respect, non-interference, and good neighbourliness.
He also added that Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are key fundamentals that must be respected in order to maintain regional security and create confidence. Any action that violates this principle harms not only bilateral ties, but also the entire security of the region.
Meanwhile, military analyst Asadullah Nadim stated, “If the two parties establish a peace agreement, it will benefit both. However, if one party does not follow the norms, it will affect both countries and endanger regional security.”
The diplomatic engagement in Kabul occurs as violence between Afghanistan and Pakistan approach their sixth day. The Islamic Emirate stated on Wednesday that its “Radd-e-Zulm” campaign will continue until what it characterised as Pakistani attacks were stopped, according to Tolo News.
