According to the UAE Foreign Ministry’s announcement, the victims came from Palestine, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

“Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan offered the families of the victims of Iran’s unprovoked terrorist assault on the United Arab Emirates his profound sympathies and condolences. Alaa Nader Awni from the State of Palestine, Murib Zaman Nizar, Muzaffar Ali Ghulam, and Ismail Salim Khan from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Ahmed Ali from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and Dibas Shrestha from the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal are among the victims who perished as a result of these flagrant attacks, according to the statement.

The foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates emphasised the nation’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all citizens, residents, and visitors while vehemently denouncing the ongoing Iranian missile and drone attacks. According to the statement, these attacks have continued for eighteen days, with over 2,000 ballistic and cruise missiles and drones targeting vital civilian infrastructure, airports, residential areas, and civilian sites throughout the UAE.

Abdullah bin Zayed emphasised that the risky escalation poses a major threat to regional and global security and stability and is a blatant violation of the nation’s sovereignty.

“The UAE strongly condemns this ongoing escalation targeting civilians and critical facilities across the country,” he continued. The United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, co-sponsored by 136 UN Member States, strongly condemns these unprovoked attacks, which have continued for over two weeks. The resolution declares that Iran is solely responsible for any losses and damages suffered by the impacted nations and demands that it immediately and unconditionally stop its actions against the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Gulf states.”

In line with its inherent right to self-defence under international law, he emphasised in the statement that the UAE retains the full right to take all necessary steps to protect its sovereignty, national security, and territorial integrity as well as to guarantee the safety and security of its citizens and residents.

 

The statement emphasised that the Foreign Minister praised the support and solidarity shown by over 130 nations with the United Arab Emirates, demonstrating the confidence the international community has in the country and its well-established global standing, which has been established over decades of responsible diplomacy, solid international partnerships, and a commitment to regional and global stability.

The Australian government’s Department of Defence acknowledged that an Iranian strike affected an area at the Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday morning as the security situation in West Asia and the Gulf intensifies.

Although there were no injuries, the attack physically damaged the building. According to the official statement, the hit “resulted in minor damage to an accommodation block and medical facility in the Australian section of the base”.
