NEET UG Fee Refund: NTA Extends Bank Details Update Deadline to July 14, 2026

Lakhs of NEET UG 2026 candidates have received more time to complete an important step in the NEET UG fee refund process. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for eligible students to confirm or update their bank account details, giving them another opportunity to receive their examination fee refund without delays.

The decision comes after the NTA discovered that many candidates had neither checked or changed their financial details. More than 10.28 lakh students have now completed the process, and refunds have begun for them. However, many of eligible candidates were still waiting to submit or amend their bank account information.

According to the most recent NTA notification, applicants can now amend or validate their bank data via the official NEET UG portal until July 14, 2026, at 11:50 PM. Students should avoid waiting until the last minute and double-check all information.

The NEET UG fee refund is linked to the application fee paid for the cancelled examination held on May 3, 2026. Following allegations of a paper leak, the examination was cancelled, and a fresh test was conducted on June 21, 2026. The government had announced that candidates would not have to pay again for the re-examination and that the original application fee would be refunded.

Candidates who have not yet completed the process should log in to the official NEET UG portal with their application credentials. After verification, individuals can confirm or edit their bank account information before completing the form.

The NTA has encouraged students to carefully check the account holder’s name, account number, and IFSC code. In some situations, candidates may be asked to upload a cancelled cheque or the first page of their bank passbook to confirm their account information. Incorrect information may cause a delay in receiving the NEET UG fee refund.

Education experts believe the extension will help thousands of students who missed the original deadline or entered inaccurate banking information. The extra time decreases the likelihood of eligible candidates missing their reimbursement due to technological issues or incomplete submissions.
