Lakhs of NEET UG 2026 candidates have received more time to complete an important step in the NEET UG fee refund process. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for eligible students to confirm or update their bank account details, giving them another opportunity to receive their examination fee refund without delays.
The decision comes after the NTA discovered that many candidates had neither checked or changed their financial details. More than 10.28 lakh students have now completed the process, and refunds have begun for them. According to the most recent NTA notification, applicants can now amend or validate their bank data via the official NEET UG portal until July 14, 2026, at 11:50 PM. Students should avoid waiting until the last minute and double-check all information.
The NEET UG fee refund is linked to the application fee paid for the cancelled examination held on May 3, 2026. Following allegations of a paper leak, the examination was cancelled, and a fresh test was conducted on June 21, 2026. The government had announced that candidates would not have to pay again for the re-examination and that the original application fee would be refunded.
