NEET UG 2026 Refund Deadline Extended : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for NEET UG 2026 candidates to provide bank account information for fee refund purposes. The move comes after lakhs of students reportedly failed to complete the procedure by the prior deadline. The decision has brought solace to applicants who are already grappling with uncertainties about the scheduled re-examination.
According to official revisions, eligible candidates may now submit or change their financial information until June 22, 2026. The reimbursement method was implemented following the cancellation of the last NEET UG 2026 examination due to controversy and complaints about the exam process. The NTA has previously declared that the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will take place all throughout the country on June 21.
According to reports, about 13 lakh candidates have already submitted their bank account information, while another several lakh pupils are yet to do so. To reduce inconvenience and ensure that all eligible applicants receive refunds, the agency decided to reopen and expand the correction facility.
NEET UG 2026 refund deadline Extended After Student Concerns
The refund portal was first introduced on May 22, allowing applicants to enter their account information online via the official NTA NEET portal. To use the refund module, students must first log in with their application number and password.
Candidates must give proper bank account information, such as account number, IFSC code, and bank name. Officials have also warned students to double-check all information before final submission, as adjustments may not be permitted later.
The NTA has confirmed that applicants are not need to register anew for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam. There will be no additional examination cost imposed for the new test set for June. The agency stated that the refund will be transferred immediately to the candidates’ bank accounts.
Education experts believe the extension will benefit students from rural and distant areas who experienced technical or internet issues during the original submission period. Many students have also expressed perplexity over eligibility and paperwork requirements.
NEET UG 2026 refund deadline Brings Relief Before Re-Exam
The extension announcement comes at an important time, as students continue to study for the re-exam under heavy pressure. Several applicants and parents had requested more time, alleging that the earlier deadline was insufficient given the scope of the exam.
NEET UG is one of India’s major medical admissions tests, with over 20 lakh candidates taking part each year. Any disruption to the exam process impacts students all around the country, increasing anxiety among applicants fighting for limited MBBS and BDS seats.
Students who have not yet entered their banking information are recommended to do so as soon as possible to avoid last-minute technical challenges with the portal. The NTA has also urged candidates not to rely on illegitimate websites or third-party intermediaries for refund-related information.
With the re-exam date nearing, candidates are now focusing on both refund procedures and preparation for the new exam. The coming weeks are considered to be vital for medical students throughout the country.
