Kuwait Condemns Attack  : A deadly attack on UN forces in southern Lebanon has been sharply denounced by Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry, which described it as a “violation of international law and Security Council Resolution 1701.”

In a statement released on Sunday, the ministry said it “expresses the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of the attack targeting the French battalion affiliated with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon ‘UNIFIL’ in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the death of one individual and the injury of several soldiers.”

Kuwait reiterates its “total rejection of targeting peacekeeping forces due to what this constitutes as a violation of international law and Security Council Resolution 1701,” the statement continued, referring to the UN Security Council resolution that governs the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
