Iran-Israel war : Despite the announcement of the deaths of two senior Iranian security officials, Tehran renewed strikes on Israel with a “cluster warhead” on Wednesday. According to Israel’s medical service, two individuals were killed in Ramat Gan, a district east of Tel Aviv, while the UAE and Qatar continued to intercept incoming missiles as Iran targeted its Gulf Arab neighbours earlier in the day.

On Tuesday , Israel announced the deaths of Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and Gen. Gholam Reza Soleimani, head of the Revolutionary Guard’s all-volunteer Basij.

At least six individuals were killed and twenty-four others were injured in two Israeli strikes on central Beirut early on Wednesday, according to Lebanon’s health ministry, which noted that the number was preliminary.

On Tuesday , the US military bombed Iranian coastal locations near the Strait of Hormuz because to Iranian anti-ship missiles posing a threat to international shipping there. President Trump stated that NATO and most other allies have rejected his pleas to help defend the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that the US is not receiving support “despite the fact that we helped” NATO “so much”.

Iran declared the death of its influential national security chief on Tuesday, following Israel’s allegation that he was killed in an airstrike and its promise to track down and “neutralise” Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

Ali Larijani’s death is a severe blow to Iran, whose long-serving leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated less than three weeks ago in US-Israeli strikes that sparked the conflict in West Asia.

Qatar intercepts missile assault as booms are reported in Doha.

Qatar’s defence ministry announced it thwarted a missile attack on Wednesday, as Doha heard explosions.

“Armed forces intercepted a missile attack targeting the State of Qatar,” the ministry of defence said in a statement issued shortly after an AFP correspondent in the capital heard several explosions.
