New York : On March 17, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United Kingdom and met with King Charles III at Buckingham Palace to start his visit.

The President talked to members of the UK Parliament after the audience, presenting his remarks as part of continuous initiatives to bolster international defence and mobilise support.

While stressing that a fair and durable peace has not yet been reached, British authorities recognised the bravery and tenacity of the Ukrainian people in fending off Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Zelenskyy’s speech was part of Ukraine’s continued efforts to gain international assistance and modernise its defences through strategic partnerships.

“Effective diplomacy to resolve the war requires strong backing for Ukraine, harsh sanctions against Russia, and significant cooperative defence initiatives. Aggressors do not just decide to end conflicts. “They stop when they are unable to continue,” the President declared during his speech.

The Ukrainian leader cautioned about the rapid expansion of global challenges, particularly the incorporation of drones and artificial intelligence into modern combat.

He emphasised the crucial necessity for aggressive defence and international coordination to safeguard cities, critical infrastructure, and vital global trade routes from these rapidly evolving technologies.

The President closed with an appeal for close cooperation, emphasising that Europe and its allies must work together to construct sophisticated defence systems so that no capital has to hide under drone nets or live under continual threat.

He thanked the United Kingdom for its unwavering support, stressing that “our agreements are always reliable.” And I’m delighted we signed a declaration today with the Prime Minister.”

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged that 201 specialists had been deployed to the Middle East to counter Shahed drones.

These military professionals, who had already began operations in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, gave actual support in fighting against Iranian-made unmanned aerial vehicles.

During his speech, the President emphasised that this step was part of a broader technology partnership strategy that Ukraine had proposed to its friends, including the United States, based on the lessons learned during Russia’s full-fledged invasion of Ukraine.
