US President Donald Trump claimed that he does not believe Israel will use a nuclear weapon in its ongoing battle with Iran. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump dismissed any future Israeli initiative of this nature. “Israel would never do that,” he told CNN. His statements came after the White House’s artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency czar, David Sacks, expressed concerns about potential escalation in an interview. According to CNN, Sacks had stated, “You have to be concerned about Israel escalating the war by considering using a nuclear weapon.”
Trump also mentioned significant coordination between the US and Israeli forces, claiming that both sides were closely aligned even if their goals “may not be exactly the same”. On Monday, Trump disclosed that a former US President had privately informed him that he wished he had taken action against Iran during his presidency, but he declined to reveal the name. According to the CNN article, four past presidents are still alive today: Bill Clinton, George W Bush, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. Trump stated that he avoided naming the individual because he did not want to “embarrass him”.
Defending the military action against Iran
Trump has continued to explain his administration’s military actions against Iran, despite growing discontent among members of the GOP’s America First lobby and rising petrol prices. According to CNN, he maintains that Iran has produced problems for the United States for nearly fifty years and emphasises the importance of taking decisive action.

US Vice President JD Vance backed Trump’s position, repeating his opinion that Iran should not be allowed to get nuclear weapons. “We carried out this military action upon the President’s direction. “All of us, whether Democrats or Republicans, should pray for the success and safety of our troops,” he said.
