New Xiaomi 17 Unveiled in India with Leica Optics and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

In India, the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra were released concurrently. The device features Leica optics and Xiaomi Guardian Structure, which combines a reinforced aluminium frame, Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0, and IP68/69 protection.

Xiaomi 17 Specification

The Xiaomi 17 sports a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,656×1,220 and a pixel density of 460 ppi. It can support up to a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and 3500 nits of peak brightness, as well as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The item has dimensions of 8.06 mm and a weight of 191 grams.

It is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage capacity. The device also comes with a 6330 mAh battery that enables 100W HyperCharge wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

On the software front, it runs on Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and includes HyperAI suite, which offers AI writing.g, AI Dynmic walpapers, AI seratch anf dmore toola. It also has Xiaomi’s 3D IceLoop Cooling technology.

The Xiaomi 17 has a triple rear camera arrangement that includes a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.67 aperture and 23mm focal length, a 50MP telephoto lens with an f/2.0 aperture, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and 102-degree field of view. On the front, it has a 50MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 90-degree field of vision. The phone also supports 8K video recording at 30 fps and 4K Dolby Vision video recording at 60 fps.

Xiaomi 17 in India: Cost and Sale

In India, the Xiaomi 17 starts at Rs 89,999 for the 12GB/256GB variation and Rs 99,999 for the 12GB/512GB model. Colours for the handset are black, blue, and green. The company is also giving the ‘Never Run Out’ launch promotion, in which the 512GB variant will be priced the same as the 256GB variant. During the Early Bird period, consumers can also receive a free Phone Damage Protection Plan worth Rs 9,999.

The launch package also includes 4 months of Spotify Premium, 3 months of Google AI Pro, 3 months of YouTube Premium, and Rs 31,500 in Jio perks. The Xiaomi 17 will be available on Amazon.in, mi.com, and in Xiaomi retail outlets beginning March 18.
